2008 Senegal Trip
In 2007 and 2008 we collaborated with Fouladou Handicap Inc. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Fouladou aims to provide medical supplies to the disabled and people with little or no access to medical care and equipment, in Senegal, West Africa. Donations and funds raised through some of our West African Festivals and performances in Albuquerque, NM USA, were donated to this organization.
In Spring 2008 we spent a few months in our home country of Senegal. Barbara Pepper, an Albuquerque midwife (Circle of Life Midwifery) and close friend, accompanied us to assist with the distribution of medical supplies. Some of the villages visited and people encountered were captured in the images below.
